    If the lyrics/tune of the songs are specific to the content of the film, and should those tunes be used at that point, you will have influence on the film.

    A 1300 foot hole? How deep were the gas pipes? Chances are the water table is going to be the main concern, not Godzilla’s offspring.

    That sounds just like Romeo and Juliet. The setting, the part of society they are in will make or break the film. I'd suggest creating a 'world they live in' and use that as why he finds himself in that situation.
