When a pulp ficion novelis arrives at post war Vienna, he has to solve an intricate web of mystery to discover what really happened to an old friend.
I'd say you're missing the real inciting incident and stakes at hand. My try: After his friend is killed in post-war Viena, a disenchanted novelist must uncover a crime syndicate spreading diluted penicillin to discover the truth about his friend.
