The conventions of story telling apply regardless of nationality and geography these are universal and true to all humans. In short the answer is a resounding yes, state the goal and have stakes.

    P.S
This is not a rule rather a convention that has been found to work more often than the alternatives. If the writer aims to sell the story and engage a large portion of the viewing audience then it would be best advised to comply with these conventions.

    Hope this helps.

When a man with recurrent dreams of being alone in an empty room finds out that the world he knows is just a creation of his imagination and that there?s another world where he lives and doesnt? recognize, he will get stuck in the middle with some huge identity problems.

Agreed with the above also try avoiding such vague descriptions as "...some huge identity problems." in a logline in general and as an obstacle description in particular. Better to specify the actual problem or the identity he is struggling with, by this I mean; sexuality, race, religious persuasionRead more

When mysterious deaths in a new subway rail yard seem connected to an ancient curse, a stiff subsurface engineer must team up with a visionary astro-archeologist to secure the tunnel before the subway line opening.

I read constant as a description of his operations local as he constantly works underground, not sure if this was the intention or not though.

Other wise the mention of the astro-archaeologist ally, aside from having a confusing description, seams redundant as it is not directly related to the plot. He will still want to stop the killing and find a way to do so with or with out the astro-archaeologist.

The inciting incident lacks certainty in its devise because of the word “?seams?”. Better to establish earlier on a direct correlation between a concrete event that happens to the MC rather than raise a possibility or assumption.

    I.e:
After a series of rituals murderers are discovered in a new subway line a subsurface engineer must catch the killer before the tunnel is complete.”

Lastly I am not sure why the engineer must stop the killings and not the police.

    Hope this helps.
