What is the inciting incident? What makes the programme suddenly need to merge minds and shutdown the other software?

    Perhaps:

After a malicious software threatens to replace a computer programme the program develops artificial intelligence and must fight for its own existence.

Regarding the MC as an “?it?” seriously de personalises the read I think better to anthropomorphise the programme if t is to be the MC. Since it is fighting for its own survival it is self aware and therefore needs to have a personality and flaw. Can you describe the flaw and add it to the logline?

    Hope this helps.

I still don’t see the inciting incident’s (job offer) significance in the life of the protagonist and the reason it motivated him.

From my understanding he is convinced to do a job in his home town then he goes to do it but is double crossed. From this I take that him being double crossed is the inciting incident and not the job offer or convincing him to do the job.

As such better to start the story with him being double crossed then describe the MC and his action against the antagonist.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Leeb0159. The latest draft of the logline reads best and outlines a clear plot personally I prefer the second option: "After being framed for murder by a malevolent police cyber-intelligence, a homicide detective goes on the run to prove his innocence."
