With help taking too long, A hopeless romantic races against time to save his fiance on the 74th floor of the South Tower on 9/11.
The MC has a clear goal and obvious high stakes this works well as a mechanism to drive the plot forward. However I just can't see how the story would make sense and how it wold fit into 110 minutes. I'm not sure about the exact timing of the events that took place in 911. Is this a story that happeRead more

I’m not sure about the exact timing of the events that took place in 911.
Is this a story that happens in real time i.e 1 min of screen time equals 1 min of real world time? If so how much time was there between the impact and the tower falling?
Would he have been able to run up the stairs and save her? How much action is there for him to take on his way to the fianc? that won’t be repetitive enough to fill awhile act?
Hope this helps.

Look at Tarantino’s films closely and analyse them (I have) liner story lines or not the MC in most cases had clear goals, high stakes antagonists and journeys.
Bottom line is if you want to sell a story to a producer he or she will have to see financial merit in it majority of audiences wanting to watch them as appose to the minority. For them to do so the story will have to comply with story conventions in order to reach a large enough audience. These conventions have been established and researched for a little over 3500 years so best to use them instead of reject them.

Also perhaps make the sister his twin it comes across as a higher stake.
Lastly ti isn’t clear from the logline whether he will travel into the spirit world to find the sister or stay in the real world and just communicate with spirits. I think it would make for a more interesting story if he were to travel into the special world on a mission and undergo an adventure there al la’ Tron or Alice in Wonderland.
If this is the case then perhaps mention in the logline that he must travel into the spirit realm etc?
e.g
After his twin sister lapses into a coma, an insecure medium must travel across the spirit realm to rescue her sole and bring her back before the hospital takes her off life support.
Hope this helps.
