As war consumes a planet, a noble warrior is born to pick a side and it is up to him to protect them and ensure their survival. It’s rusty. I am no writer, which is why I need your help. Be brutally honest. Please and thank you.

One thing that will help your story and logline is to make it personal. In the case of your story you should ask yourself, what does you character want more than anything.

The “Christmas carol” story line has been done quite a bit, not just in movies but it seems every long running TV series eventually runs out of ideas and does a “Christmas Carol” episode. As a result you need a good hook. Something that will draw in the reader. Something that will make it stand out.

For instance, in a Christmas carol, scrooge is greedy, but after his visits from the three ghosts he realizes what’s really important are the relationships we have and the people we care about. In order to stand the story on it’s head maybe have a meek guy who is taught by three ghosts to be more greedy and to stand up for himself.

A father and the estranged daughter he seeks to reconnect with accompany an affluent friend to a secret restaurant. The father is horrified to learn the restaurant serves nothing but human meat, and must find a way to cope while protecting his daughter’s innocence.

The good news: I have never seen this movie. Die hard I have seen (Die hard on a plane, die hard on a train, die hard in the white house) Boy meets girl boy does something stupid, boy makes grand gesture I have seen before... but father and daughter going to a restaurant that serves human meat... soRead more

Die hard I have seen (Die hard on a plane, die hard on a train, die hard in the white house) Boy meets girl boy does something stupid, boy makes grand gesture I have seen before… but father and daughter going to a restaurant that serves human meat… so you have that going for you.

However, as others point out, the goal starts off with his desire to reconnect with his daughter but his actions are to protect his daughters innocence. In the logline you should explain how those connect or at least explain why he does not just walk out and go to McDonald’s.

Maybe they could bond if in the end they discover they have eaten her mother and his ex-wife??? No? okay my bad, not good at all.
