    That's a nice snappy logline that gets us to the heart of the story. I'd suggest "must fight" rather than "will fight", it's slightly stronger.

    This is the clearest and best version of this logline so far, but the word "rival" is throwing me off. Is she actually going to play basketball against him? If not, she's not a rival. Would 'obstacle' or 'distraction' be more appropriate?

    For example, Lockdown is an ‘escape an inescapable prison’ story set in the future – and what the future setting gives you is *the reason the prison is inescapable*. It’s _in space_. You can’t get off it without a ship. So, good reason for the story to be set in the future. What’s the good reason for the future setting here?
