Ok! this is a very different angle! What I like in my logline is the irony of a simple man who must deal with the 'living brains' of 13 scientists... I’m looking foreward to read some more accomplished versions of the logline.
Anyway, this kind of story is tricky: I don’t think the destruction of the heart can be a true inciting event, it is not enough personal to the main character. There must be something more precise like “when his family is exterminated by the alien invaders, one of the very last survivors on earth…” or maybe the inciting event could be some kind of discovery: “when the last survivor on earth finds some nuclear weapons in a cave…”
