Then I think that “to prove her sanity” is too vague, I honestly can’t imagine what she can do (the more she says she’s right about her cause, the more everyone?will be convinced that she’s crazy).
As far as I’m concerned I prefere the Tony version, not because it’s more historically correct, but because it’s more believable and well detailed it could be more detailed with a clear antagonist).

See lessI think your movie has an interesting and original main character, and the idea that a ‘theorician’ must take action is a good trick to build a plot: try to analyze “Man’s Favorite Sport?” where the main character is a professional fishing equipement clerk, very able to sell the equipement, but in reality he can’t fish – when his boss send him to a fishing contest with a beautiful girl… Here the goal and the stakes are quite clear keep the job, win the girl). I think that you should work on the motivation of your character and on the conflict that will fuel the plot.
