If I understand correctly, the astronaut was blown out into space, fell through some kind of wormhole and came back to Earth a week before he left. Is this a closed time-like loop in which the events will be infinitely repeated until the astronaut can break out of the loop? If that is the case, then the astronaut’s goal is to break out of the loop. (If he is a family man, then his motivation to break out of the loop is his desire to watch his children grow up.)

If the astronaut is not caught in a loop and this is a one off event, then how does he distinguish what happened from a bad dream?

(REVISION #6):? When a na?ve, rambunctious teenage singer in the early sixties in England succumbs to the seductive excesses of the Rock?n Roll lifestyle, she ends up pregnant and is pressured to get an illegal abortion that changes her life forever.

One problem with leaving a logline with a choice at the end is that the list of choices may not be all inclusive. One problem with leaving a logline with a choice at the end is that the list of choices may not be all inclusive. In this case, I see the following choices: 1) she has an illegal abortion and suffers the consequences, 2) she has an abortion in a country where abortions are legal, 3) she keeps the baby and gives up her career, 4) she has the baby and leaves it with her mother while she pursues her career, 5) she has the baby and gives it up for adoption, 6) she keeps the baby and learns to manage her time between career and motherhood. All these options have been pursued by different celebrities over the years, so why must she choose between 1 and 3?

Another problem when ending a logline with the MC choosing is: when does the choice get made? If in the middle of the film, what happens next? If at the end, then what was happening on screen when the drama of choice played out?

As in your previous loglines, most of what you have here is setting. Only at the end do we find an inciting incident that might drive the rest of the story. As in your previous loglines, most of what you have here is setting. Only at the end do we find an inciting incident that might drive the rest of the story. In other words, what happens after the singer becomes pregnant? Note, however, you should not end a logline with a decision, rather tell us what decision the MC made and what comes next.

Here are a couple of examples of where you should aim:

When a rowdy singer in a rock band becomes pregnant, she must learn to keep her mother role separate from the bad-girl role she projects on stage.

After the lead singer in a 1960’s band succumbs to pressure from the other band members to have an illegal abortion, she is left a cripple and must learn to sing from a wheel chair.
