Maybe if the Chicano was a gang member or a trouble maker and had to hide the fact he was dancing from his friends.

Not great but I hope you see where I am going with this. Cholo is Spanish slang for gangster and people could understand why a gang member might not want his rough and tumble friends know he’s dancing.
