When a high priced gigolo moonlights as a pornstar, his sexual depravities reach extreme heights, and he is forced to decide how much of his soul he will sell for money, fame and the love that will never fulfil him.

I agree with dpg, bringing this into the modern day and presenting a porn actor whose star is waning and struggling to maintain his lifestyle is a more interesting (to me) story. This could be closer to your ‘toxic masculinity’ exploration than love and sex. ?A porn star who made his money in his macho image (still a thing in porn, if not mainstream film) losing everything that made him a man’s man…. He’s forced to be a prostitute, but prefers ‘gigolo’ because it’s, well, masculine!

Either he has an epiphany or it’s a cautionary tale that spirals into his ruin… I’d watch it!

Hi Craig, Your logline led to a few questions in my mind: 1960s USA - Is there a specific reason this is stated? ?Couldn't this be any time and any place? ?What specifically makes is a period USA piece? Hi Craig,

Your logline led to a few questions in my mind:

    • 1960s USA – Is there a specific reason this is stated? ?Couldn’t this be any time and any place? ?What specifically makes is a period USA piece?
    • “criminals” – is a bit vague… what kind of criminals are they? ?Money from what activities?
    • “one black, one white” – Is there a racial element to your story? ?If not, I don’t see the need to state their ethnicity.
    • I’m don’t understand if one shot the other and took the money… but if that’s the case, the money wouldn’t just disappear, we’d know there is only one person left alive to take it (if the other is indeed killed?!) ?Which then made me think that the battle of wits is with whoever is picking the money up?

    Regards
    Trix

When a playboy becomes entangled with a set of polyamorous, jet-setting nomads – he falls in love with an unavailable woman, whilst a suicidal nubile teen, falls madly in love with him.

The more I hear about it, the more I like the idea... especially the asthetic - I would add that to the logline. I would focus on the couple at the heart of it - the playboy and the married woman (unless it's going to be a menage a trois, in which case obvs include the teen) - and then work backwardRead more

IMO, both the libertine and the monogamous lifestyles have elements of prison and freedom. ?Rather than play one angle, I’d play with showing how each ?lifestyle has both elements… ?Maybe it could be a ‘the grass is always greener’ cautionary tale.
